MWB Power and Bücker + Essing will be presenting their strong portfolio in marine engine repair at SMM in Hamburg, the world's leading trade fair for the maritime industry. From 3 to 6 September 2024, the teams from both companies will be welcoming customers and interested parties to their joint stand 221 in Hall A3.
Both companies are combining their marine repair services under the umbrella of the SERCOO Group to create a comprehensive portfolio for engines up to 22 MW, pumps, compressors, couplings, gearboxes, bearings and much more. A perfect match for customers in the shipping industry.
MWB Power is characterised by the close integration of mobile field service and stationary maintenance. The existing infrastructure in Bremerhaven with its own pier, large workshops and crane capacities directly at the Kaiserhafen harbour is designed for the repair of high-speed and medium-speed large engines. Bücker + Essing specialises in high-speed engines. Bücker + Essing's mechanical production and component machining capabilities complement the portfolio perfectly. In particular, the cold gas coating process and mobile machining is an interesting option for customers from the shipping industry when it comes to component repair.

Marine engine repair: good on its own, unbeatable together
A perfect example of the co-operation between the two companies is the engine repair on one of the double-ended ferries on the Weser in Bremen: The ferry is powered by four 12-cylinder naturally aspirated engines from Mercedes. While the ferry was berthed at the MWB pier in Bremerhaven, MWB Power removed the engines and auxiliary diesel units, repaired the main drives and refurbished the area around the engines in the engine room. Bücker + Essing repaired the auxiliary units.
